Muscat: The Supreme Judicial Council (SJC) has announced a major step to strengthen Oman’s legal framework for business and investment disputes.

The decision includes the establishment of four appeal circuits outside Muscat Governorate, in Dhofar, Al Dakhiliyah, North Al Batinah, and North Al Sharqiyah. Each circuit will oversee cases within its designated geographical jurisdiction, ensuring businesses and investors have access to appellate services closer to their operations.

Additionally, 10 primary courts will be launched across the Sultanate in Dhofar, Musandam, Al Buraimi, Ad Dakhiliyah, North and South Al Batinah, North and South Al Sharqiyah, Ad Dhahirah, and Al Wusta. With this coverage, every governorate will now host a court dedicated to investment and trade disputes.
