NEW YORK – His Excellency Sayyid Badr bin Hamad Al Busaidi, Minister of Foreign Affairs, delivered Oman’s national statement, highlighting the country’s ongoing efforts and notable achievements in implementing the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
To date, Oman has successfully achieved 14 out of the 17 SDGs, representing a progress rate exceeding 82 percent.
In his address, His Excellency reaffirmed Oman’s commitment to achieving net-zero carbon emissions by 2050, outlining national strategies focused on renewable energy, green hydrogen production, and promoting both the circular economy and the blue economy. He also referenced key national initiatives, including the ‘Oman: Sustainable Future’ strategy, the ‘Future Fund Oman’, and the Energy Transition Fund, launched by the Oman Investment Authority to accelerate the country’s shift toward clean energy solutions.
His Excellency reiterated the Sultanate of Oman’s commitment to actively pursue its partnerships with all countries, in line with the principles of its foreign policy based on peace, coexistence, tolerance, and dialogue.
