SOHAR : In a strategic step that enhances the standing of Omani football, the Oman Football Association announced the signing of an exclusive partnership agreement with Jindal Steel to sponsor the Sultanate of Oman’s Premier League for the elite—formerly known as the “Elite League.” Starting from this season, the league will carry its new name: “Jindal League.”

The agreement also includes sponsoring the youth development centres of the “Jindal League” clubs, in addition to establishing a new youth competition under the name “Jindal Juniors League,” for a duration of two years.

His Excellency Sayyid Suleiman bin Hamoud Al Busaidi, Chairman of the Oman Football Association, expressed his pride in this partnership, saying:

“Our collaboration with one of the largest industrial companies in the Sultanate of Oman comes within a comprehensive strategic vision that links support for local competitions with the nurturing of emerging talents. This establishes a solid foundation for the development of Omani football and strengthens the creation of generations capable of representing the national teams at the highest professional levels.”

For his part, Mr. Harssha Shetty, CEO of Jindal Steel, expressed his delight with this partnership, saying:

“We are excited to be the exclusive sponsor of the most important football competition in the Sultanate of Oman. This partnership marks a new beginning for the country’s favorite sport and represents a significant step forward for Omani football on the global stage.

The Jindal League and Jindal Juniors League provide ample opportunities to fuel Oman’s passion for football. Fans will be able to connect with the game through dedicated fan zones, contests, ‘Meet Your Favourite Star’ experiences, merchandise, and many more activities.

This truly embodies the vision of ‘working from the grassroots level’ for Omani football. To this end, we have already begun establishing Football Talent Development Centres across Oman, with 10 centres opened and operational so far, where emerging Omani football stars are being nurtured. The Jindal Juniors League will serve as a launchpad for this talent to grow, develop, and sharpen their skills.”
