OSAKA – The show offered a creative interpretation of Omani identity, with garments that vividly expressed the authenticity of traditional Omani dress as a cultural language rooted in the nation’s diverse natural environments and its enduring openness to the world.

Eight models took to the runway, showcasing 16 unique outfits inspired by Oman’s marine, mountainous, and desert landscapes. Each ensemble reflected elements of local craftsmanship, traditional fabrics, and decorative patterns that have long distinguished Omani attire. Presented in a modern context, the designs underscored the enduring vitality of Omani heritage and its ability to adapt and remain relevant on the global cultural stage.

The show received strong engagement from international visitors, who praised the deep cultural symbolism embedded in the garments. Many noted how the fusion of traditional elements with modern design serves as a dynamic expression of national identity, capable of resonating with audiences worldwide.

This fashion showcase is part of a broader cultural and artistic programme organised by the Sultanate of Oman at its Expo 2025 pavilion, which will run through the end of October. The programme aims to present Omani identity through a creative lens – bridging past and present – while reinforcing Oman’s commitment to cross-cultural dialogue and global engagement through its arts, fashion, and heritage.
