MUSCAT – Oman’s foreign ministry on Sunday welcomed the decision by the United Kingdom, Canada and Australia to recognise the State of Palestine, describing it as a significant step toward advancing international efforts to achieve a two-state solution.
In a statement, the ministry said the move “represents an important development in the context of international efforts aimed at achieving the two-state solution and consolidating the foundations of security and peace in the region.”
Oman also renewed its call for the rest of the international community to recognise Palestinian statehood, stressing the need for practical measures that ensure the Palestinian people’s right to establish an independent state along the 1967 borders with East Jerusalem as its capital.

The announcement came as Oman reiterated support for a just and lasting peace in the Middle East based on international law and UN resolutions.
