MUSCAT : Data released by the National Center for Statistics and Information indicated that associated gas production increased by 10.8 percent by the end of July 2025, reaching 7.31 billion cubic meters, up from 6.59 billion cubic meters in July 2024.
In contrast, non-associated gas production (including imports) declined by 1.8 percent to 25.57 billion cubic meters, compared to 26.05 billion cubic meters during the same period last year.
At the consumption level, natural gas consumption in industrial projects declined by 3.9 percent to 16.37 billion cubic meters, down from 17.05 billion cubic meters during the same period in 2024.
Gas use in power plants increased slightly by 0.5 percent to 8.804 billion cubic meters by the end of July 2025, compared to 8.757 billion cubic meters by the end of July 2024.
The data also showed that gas consumption in oil fields and related industries grew significantly by 12.7 percent, reaching 7.54 billion cubic meters, up from 6.69 billion cubic meters.
Gas used in industrial zones grew by 10.3 percent, reaching 161.4 million cubic meters by the end of July 2025, compared to 146.3 million cubic meters during the same period in 2024.
