MUSCAT – According to preliminary data issued by the National Centre for Statistics and Information (NCSI), net electricity production – which includes purchases by the Oman Power and Water Procurement Company (OPWP) and the Rural Areas Electricity Company (RAEC) across various regions – also grew by 8.7 percent, reaching 29,308.6 GWh, up from 26,972.2 GWh during the same period last year.

In contrast, total water production across the Sultanate registered a slight decline of 0.8 percent as of the end of July 2025. Output stood at approximately 298.94 million cubic meters, compared to 301.24 million cubic meters during the same period in 2024.

At the governorate level, Muscat Governorate witnessed a decrease in water production by 8.1 percent, reaching 122.39 million cubic meters from 133.19 million cubic meters a year earlier.

Meanwhile, production in Dhofar Governorate increased by 3 percent, reaching 43.93 million cubic meters. Water production in the remaining governorates also increased by 5.8 percent, recording 298.94 million cubic meters, compared to 301.24 million cubic meters until the end of July 2025.
