Dubai Police issue safety advisory ahead of India-Pakistan Asia Cup clash, fines up to Dh30,000 for acts of violence

With cricket fever building ahead of the much-anticipated Asia Cup 2025 showdown between India and Pakistan at Dubai International Stadium, Dubai Police have rolled out a strong safety advisory.

Dubai: The Events Security Committee (ESC), chaired by Major General Saif Muhair Al Mazrouei, Assistant Commander-in-Chief for Operations at Dubai Police, confirmed that specialised units are fully prepared to secure the high-profile tournament. He stressed that misconduct, including pitch invasions, fireworks, or violence, will be dealt with firmly under Federal Law governing sports facilities and events.

Spectators face prison terms of one to three months and fines ranging from Dh5,000 to Dh30,000 for offences such as carrying fireworks, entering the field of play, or disrupting matches. Acts of violence, throwing objects, or using racist or abusive language carry even harsher penalties, with fines up to Dh30,000.

To ensure smooth entry, Dubai Police urged fans to:

Arrive at least three hours before kick-off
Enter only once per ticket
Carry valid tickets
Avoid random parking or blocking roads

A list of prohibited items has also been issued, including fireworks, flammable substances, umbrellas, large cameras, selfie sticks, sharp objects, pets, remote-controlled devices, scooters, skateboards, and glass items.
