MUSCAT – His Excellency Eng. Said Hamoud Al Maawali, Minister of Transport, Communications and Information Technology, confirmed in a statement to Oman News Agency that construction work is progressing according to the scheduled timeline and approved requirements and standards, with efforts being intensified to complete project phases as quickly as possible due to their importance in improving traffic safety, facilitating mobility, enhancing connectivity between governorates, and stimulating economic, social, and tourism activities.
He stated that the ministry has adopted modern technologies in construction work, including the use of pre-cast concrete moulds for constructing water culverts, typically built in valley courses to drain rainwater. This contributes to improving execution quality and accelerating the pace of completion.
He explained that this technology is being applied in the project to dualize the Raysut–Mughsail road project in Salalah, which is 33 kilometres long and currently 10 percent complete. The project includes the construction of 8 overpasses and underpasses, animal crossings, and two roundabouts, in addition to linking it with the 18 November Road and Salalah city centre, extending to the Sarfait border crossing in Dhalkout Governorate.
