MUSCAT – Citizens and residents in affected areas are advised to exercise caution and stay alert.
In its daily forecast, the department reported that low clouds are also gathering along the coastal strip of Dhofar Governorate and its adjacent mountains, with intermittent drizzle continuing in the region.
The forecast reads as follows: “Cloudy to partly cloudy over the coastal strip of Dhofar Governorate and the adjacent mountains with intermittent drizzle and rain at times. Medium and high clouds will flow over parts of Dhofar desert with a chance of scattered rain starting from the evening.
Chance of cumulus clouds and scattered rain, sometimes thundery, accompanied by active descending winds over parts of Al Hajar Mountains and the adjacent areas during the afternoon and over Ad Dakhiliyah and Ad Dhahirah Governorates with a chance of rising dust and sand due to active winds over the desert areas. There is a chance of low clouds or fog formation late at night and early morning over the Arabian Sea coasts and parts of the Sea of Oman coasts.
