Muscat: The Ministry of Education has announced a package of initiatives to modernize learning and expand opportunities as schools across the Sultanate begin the 2025/2026 academic year.

His Excellency Dr. Abdullah bin Khamis Ambusaidi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Education for Education, said the new measures include curriculum upgrades, digital platforms, and advanced registration systems aimed at enhancing both student learning and administrative efficiency.

Dr. Ambusaidi confirmed that the ministry has completed the development of international-standard curricula in English language, information technology, and environmental sciences. Alongside these updates, more than 125 new digital learning resources have been produced, while dozens of textbooks and teaching guides have been revised to align with global standards.

In a move to simplify procedures for private education providers, the ministry will activate the Oman Business Platform to handle applications for establishing new schools, renewing licenses, and updating school records.

Additionally, a dedicated digital registration system is being developed and distance learning programs, reflecting the ministry’s commitment to making education more inclusive and accessible.

The ministry will also launch the second phase of the “Ru’ya 4” programme, designed to identify and nurture gifted students, providing them with opportunities to further develop their skills and creativity.

Dr. Ambusaidi emphasized that these initiatives reflect the ministry’s broader strategy of embracing digital innovation and investing in quality education, in line with the objectives of Oman Vision 2040.
