Muscat: Oman will officially launch the Golden Residency (Golden Visa) programme on August 31, a landmark initiative aimed at attracting foreign investors, entrepreneurs, and professionals while strengthening the Sultanate’s role as a regional hub for business and innovation.

The announcement from the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotions, comes alongside a package of strategic reforms, including:

  1. The “Glorious Companies” initiative to support and expand high-performing Omani firms.
  2. A digital commercial registration system designed to streamline business procedures and enhance transparency.

Officials noted that the Golden Residency directly supports the objectives of Oman Vision 2040, particularly economic diversification, reduced reliance on oil revenues, and the expansion of private-sector opportunities. The programme is expected to draw long-term investors and skilled talent, boosting competitiveness and job creation across the national economy.

The official launch ceremony will take place in Salalah on August 31, under the patronage of His Highness Sayyid Marwan bin Turki Al Said, Governor of Dhofar.
