Portsmouth: The visit was attended by His Excellency Badr bin Mohammed Al Mandhari, Oman’s Ambassador to the UK; Counsellor Gerald Vernon, Lord Mayor of Portsmouth; Lieutenant General Martin Connell, Deputy Chief of the Royal Navy Staff; and Air Commodore Abdul Nasser bin Hamed Al Shukaili, Military Attaché at the Omani Embassy in London. A number of other diplomats and military attachés accredited to the UK were also present.
Guests toured the ship and explored its exhibits, which reflect the Sultanate of Oman’s proud maritime history and cultural legacy.
