MUSCAT : The graduation ceremony, held under the patronage of His Excellency Dr. Saif bin Abdullah Al-Haddabi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Higher Education, Scientific Research and Innovation for Scientific Research and Innovation, marked a milestone in advancing Oman’s circular economy.
Among the highlights was the recognition of three finalists from Oman Environmental Services Holding Company’s “Be’ah Tech” program. ZaytTech claimed first place for its pioneering solution that transforms household cooking oil waste into a valuable resource using Internet of Things (IoT) technologies and food delivery networks, offering a scalable and cost-effective model for Oman.
Second place went to Zithri, which converts used cooking oil into eco-friendly 3D printing filaments, reducing plastic waste and carbon emissions while delivering high-quality, competitively priced materials. EcoSort secured third place with its educational initiative that deploys smart, affordable waste containers in schools, fostering recycling habits among younger generations.
