Tehran: Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi confirmed the inspectors’ arrival, noting that their entry was approved by Iran’s Supreme National Security Council. Speaking on the sidelines of a parliamentary security and foreign policy session, Araghchi said the presence of inspectors was necessary for supervising the Bushehr reactor’s fuel replacement.

He clarified that no final text has yet been agreed upon for a new cooperation framework with the IAEA, stressing that negotiations are ongoing. “It is natural in any talks for the two parties to exchange their positions and views until a final agreement is reached,” Araghchi said, adding that the agency has already presented its views in writing on multiple occasions.

IAEA Director General Rafael Grossi welcomed the inspectors’ return, describing it as a sign of Tehran’s willingness to resume some technical discussions on its nuclear program. Their presence marks the first step toward re-establishing monitoring mechanisms disrupted by recent regional conflict.
