MUSCAT – The initiative comes in line with the Ministry of Health’s strategy to localise advanced medical technologies and enhance the quality of healthcare services across Oman.

“This achievement, accomplished through the efforts and expertise of purely national competencies, represents a qualitative leap in the diagnosis of prostate tumours,” stated the announcement from the Royal Hospital.

This achievement is expected to enhance diagnostic efficiency for prostate cancer detection, reduce patient costs by offering the service locally, shorten waiting times for imaging and diagnosis

.
The molecular imaging service utilises the latest nuclear imaging equipment and is supported by advanced systems such as Radiology Information System (RIS) and Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS). Innovations in radiation protection protocols and a commitment to the continuous training and upskilling of medical personnel further ensure the service adheres to the highest standards of patient safety and clinical excellence.
