MUSCAT – The initiative includes the distribution of numerous agricultural seedlings for planting, supporting national efforts to expand tree cover and green spaces across the Sultanate of Oman.
Yousuf Ahmed Al Harthy, Environmental Supervision Specialist at the Environment Department in North A lSharqiyah Governorate, stated that the three-day campaign involves distributing a number of wild seedlings and ornamental trees in cooperation with various public sector institutions in Ibra and Sinaw.

He explained that the environmental initiative aims to raise ecological awareness and support the national campaign to plant 10 million trees. The campaign includes distributing hundreds of wild and local seedlings, such as Sidr, Ghaf, Talh, and Moringa trees, along with ornamental plants, to encourage community members to engage in gardening, self-cultivation, and participate in preserving vegetation and combating desertification.
