Lahore: The downpour, which lasted several hours, left neighborhoods waterlogged and roads blocked, paralyzing traffic and stranding residents, causing widespread disruption in several cities, including Pira Ismail Khan, Islamabad, and Rawalpindi. In Pira Ismail Khan, where seven fatalities were reported, floodwaters swept through homes, causing significant damage.

Islamabad and Rawalpindi were among the hardest hit, with continuous rainfall submerging low-lying areas, triggering landslides, and causing power outages across multiple districts. Authorities raced to open blocked drains to relieve rising water levels as rescue teams worked to reach affected residents.

The Pakistan Meteorological Department has issued warnings of continued heavy rainfall in northern and mountainous regions in the coming days, raising fears of further flooding and landslides.
