Heavy rains lash North Al Sharqiyah, valleys overflow in several Wilayats of Oman

Parts of Oman’s North Al Sharqiyah Governorate witnessed heavy to light rainfall today, accompanied by active descending winds, leading to overflowing valleys and mountain waterfalls across multiple wilayats.

Muscat: The Wilayats of Dima, At-Tayyin, Ibra, Al Mudhaibi, and parts of Wadi Bani Khalid were affected by the weather conditions, which varied from thunderstorms to moderate showers.

In Dima and At-Tayyin, villages including Mahlah, Al-Mudayrah, Al-Qaryah, Al-Hamam, Aqdaa, Ghayadah, and Awf experienced heavy to medium rainfall, resulting in the flow of valleys such as Al-Qatifi, Al-Qaryah, and Awf. Mountain waterfalls also descended in Al-Mudayrah, Ghayadh, and surrounding areas.

In Ibra, moderate to light rains fell over Qafifa, Al Haimah, Jadiya, Al Jarwala, and nearby villages, causing valleys to flow. Similarly, the Wilayat of Al Mudhaibi reported moderate showers in Al Jarda, Al Wariyah, and Baad villages. In Wadi Bani Khalid, several villages saw moderate rainfall, with valleys swelling in response.
