MUSCAT – His Excellency Dr. Hilal bin Ali Al Sabti, Minister of Health, carried out a surprise visit to a private pharmacy in Sohar on Tuesday, August 19, as part of the Ministry’s ongoing field inspections to monitor the enforcement of regulations governing the pharmacy profession.
During the visit, Dr. Al Sabti praised the professionalism and capabilities of Omani pharmacists, emphasizing their role in advancing the healthcare system.
Omani pharmacists are capable of managing the pharmacy sector in the Sultanate of Oman. In the private sector — and the pharmacy I visited today — is the greatest witness to that. You have all my appreciation and gratitude,” he said.

The Minister underlined that the Ministry’s direct presence in the field strengthens oversight mechanisms and boosts the confidence of citizens and residents in the healthcare sector. He emphasized that such monitoring not only ensures compliance with regulations but also enhances trust in services provided by both public and private healthcare institutions.
The unannounced inspection, officials noted, sends a strong message that the health sector remains a top government priority. It also reaffirmed that Omani pharmacists possess the competence and skills necessary to manage the sector effectively and deliver pharmaceutical services to international standards.
