Dubai: MoHRE confirmed that the violations were detected between January and June this year, with legal measures now being pursued against the companies involved. While the ministry did not disclose the names of the firms, it said penalties would vary from fines to additional sanctions depending on the seriousness of each violation.

Fake Emiratisation typically involves companies misclassifying staff to boost their national hiring figures or placing Emiratis on payroll without meaningful work. Such practices undermine the government’s Emiratisation drive, which has been stepped up in recent years with stricter quotas and tougher penalties for non-compliance.

In a statement, officials stressed the ministry’s “firm commitment” to protecting the integrity of Emiratisation initiatives, which aim to increase national participation in the private workforce as part of the UAE’s long-term economic vision.

Authorities also issued a public appeal, urging Emiratis and residents to report any suspected cases of fake Emiratisation through the ministry’s hotline (600590000), smart app, or official website.
