MUSCAT : Speaking exclusively to The Arabian Stories (TAS), a local IndiGo representative confirmed that the decision to suspend the route was based on “low seasonality” and is part of the airline’s summer schedule.
According to the airline’s representative travel agencies were notified of the change well in advance, though no public announcement was issued by the airline.
Travel industry sources indicated that passengers who had booked tickets beyond the cut-off date have been refunded, and the service appears to have been discontinued based on projections of reduced passenger flow from Oman following the end of the holiday season.

The suspension is a significant blow for expatriates in Oman who rely on the direct connection to Kannur.
IndiGo’s Muscat–Kannur route had launched in mid-May following persistent demand from expatriates in Oman for increased connectivity to Kerala. The service operated three times a week – Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays – and was popular among travellers due to its competitive pricing.
