RIYADH – The campaign aims to raise awareness about the importance of early vaccination against HPV, especially targeting adolescents and those approaching marriage of both genders. It also seeks to enhance knowledge among parents and the entire Gulf community, including teachers, healthcare practitioners, educational and health institutions, and non-profit organisations.
The GHC said HPV is one of the most common viruses and that the vaccine provides 90% protection against cancers associated with it. The virus can remain in the body without symptoms for years, potentially leading to the development of multiple types of cancer.
The campaign relies on a variety of awareness materials, including a main video, short videos, a scientific behavioural test, an educational guide, posts, and awareness lectures — all aimed at raising awareness and correcting common misconceptions about the virus and the vaccine.

The Council called on community members to visit its website to access the campaign’s awareness materials.
This campaign continues the GHC’s efforts to promote health prevention and reduce the spread of multiple cancers in Gulf society. Studies indicate that the vaccine is safe and effective and has been recommended by the World Health Organization.
