MUSCAT – In a statement issued today by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Oman expressed its unequivocal opposition to any such proposals, which it warned pose a direct threat to regional security and stability. “The illegal expansionist plans flagrantly violate international law and infringe upon the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people to establish their independent state on their lands in the West Bank and Gaza Strip, with East Jerusalem as its capital,” it stated.
The Ministry emphasised that such rhetoric and policies only serve to inflame tensions and fuel hostility at a time when the region urgently needs de-escalation, cooperation, and respect for the principles of national sovereignty and good neighbourliness.
The statement reads as follows: “These expansionist proposals pose a direct threat to the security and stability of the region and fuel feelings of hostility and tension at a time when there is a dire need for calm and cooperation among the countries of the region and respect for the principles of national sovereignty and good neighbourliness.
