As stated by Prime Minister Modi, Bharat’s remarkable journey in space is “not merely a destination but a declaration of curiosity, courage, and collective progress.” From launching a modest rocket in 1963 to becoming the first nation to land near the Moon’s South Pole, the country has demonstrated how far determination and innovation can propel a nation.  Bharat’s historic success in reaching Mars on its first attempt in 2014,  Chandrayaan-1 helping discover water on the Moon, Chandrayaan-2 delivering the highest-resolution images of the lunar surface, and Chandrayaan-3 advancing global understanding of the Moon’s South Pole all stand tall in the country’s confident space odyssey. Bharat’s rapid development of cryogenic engines, its record-setting launch of 100 satellites in a single mission, and the deployment of over 400 satellites for 34 nations all underscore the scale and impact of its achievements.

Just this year, Bharat successfully docked two satellites in space, marking another significant step forward in its exploration efforts. For Bharat, space is not solely about exploration—it is equally about empowerment. Space technology strengthens governance, improves livelihoods, and inspires countless Bharatiyas. Satellites play a crucial role in everything from issuing alerts to fishermen and enhancing railway safety to powering the Gati Shakti infrastructure platform and enabling accurate weather forecasting. The space sector has also become a dynamic arena for innovation, with over 250 startups now engaged in areas like satellite design, propulsion systems, and advanced imaging. Many of these missions are being led by women scientists.

Bharat’s digital story is unparalleled, with more than half of the world’s real-time digital transactions taking place here. UPI has revolutionized payments, reaching even the smallest vendors, while services like DigiLocker and over five lakh Common Service Centres bring governance to people’s doorsteps. Bharat has also attained Tier-1 status in the Global Cybersecurity Index. Our AI Mission, Quantum Mission, Semiconductor Mission, Critical Minerals Mission, and Nuclear Power Mission are becoming the new engines of our growth.

India boasts the world’s third-largest startup ecosystem, with over 150,000  startups and 110 unicorns. Government programs like Startup India and the Atal Innovation Mission have fostered a culture of entrepreneurship, providing financial support, mentorship, and incubation facilities across various sectors, including FinTech, HealthTech, EdTech, and AgriTech.
