WASHINGTON : Posting on his social media platform, Truth Social, Trump described the Abraham Accords as a vital path to securing “PEACE IN THE MIDDLE EAST,” calling on all regional nations to sign onto the normalization agreements. The accords, originally brokered in 2020 during Trump’s first term, normalized diplomatic relations between Israel and several Arab nations, including the UAE, Bahrain, Sudan, and Morocco.

Trump also made headlines with his assertion that Iran’s nuclear weapons program, “created,” as he put it, had been completely dismantled. “Iran’s nuclear arsenal has been totally obliterated,” he wrote, without citing any official sources or evidence.

The claim comes despite ongoing international concerns over Iran’s nuclear ambitions. The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) continues to monitor Tehran’s nuclear program closely, with no independent confirmation supporting Trump’s statement. Iran, meanwhile, maintains that its nuclear activities are for peaceful purposes.

Trump’s renewed focus on Middle East diplomacy comes amid a backdrop of regional conflict, rising tensions, and stalled peace efforts. Analysts note that while the Abraham Accords were a significant diplomatic breakthrough, they have yet to translate into a comprehensive peace framework for the region.
