MUSCAT : Released on August 4, the Q1 2025 report highlights TikTok’s expanding efforts to maintain a secure and inclusive space for users across Egypt, Iraq, Lebanon, the UAE, and Morocco. The platform’s moderation drive included the removal of millions of videos, the banning of nearly 850,000 LIVE hosts globally, and the interruption of more than 1.5 million livestreams in the region alone.
Among key highlights:
Iraq led the region with over 10 million video removals, boasting a 99.5% proactive detection rate and 95.5% of content taken down within 24 hours.

Egypt followed with 2.9 million removals and a 99.6% proactive removal rate. Nearly 95% of harmful content was deleted within a day.
The UAE saw over 1 million videos removed, 86,790 LIVE hosts banned, and a 94% removal rate within 24 hours.
Morocco recorded over 1 million removals, with a 98.9% proactive rate and 92.1% taken down in under 24 hours.
Lebanon saw 1.34 million videos removed, with 96.9% taken down within a day and a strong 99.5% proactive moderation rate.
On the LIVE content front, TikTok scaled up enforcement, globally removing over 19 million livestreams—a 50% increase from the previous quarter. Regionally, Egypt and Iraq topped the list with 587,246 and 649,551 disrupted livestreams, respectively.
In terms of accountability and fairness, TikTok restored thousands of videos following successful user appeals, with Iraq (209,291) and Egypt (144,605) leading in content reinstatement.
TikTok reaffirmed its use of both advanced automated systems and human moderators to enforce its Community Guidelines. The platform continues to invest in regional safety through digital literacy programs, media partnerships, and awareness initiatives aimed at empowering users and reinforcing trust.
