MUSCAT – This measure is in accordance with the provisions of the National Payment Systems Law, promulgated under Royal Decree No. 8/2018, as well as other relevant laws.
“The Royal Oman Police announces its readiness to receive complaints related to the non-cancellable direct debit tool in accordance with the provisions of the National Payment Systems Law issued by Royal Decree No. (8/2018), and related laws, through police stations in various governorates of the Sultanate of Oman,” stated the announcement from ROP.
It is pertinent to note that Central Bank of Oman (CBO) had, following the promulgation of the law, highlighted the introduction of the direct debit instrument as a key development aimed at aligning with technological advancements and enhancing payment efficiency.
