Oman and Hong Kong explore joint investment opportunities

The Sultanate of Oman and the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) held high-level discussions to strengthen bilateral cooperation in the fields of investment, trade, and economic development.

MUSCAT – His Excellency Abdulsalam bin Mohammed Al Murshidi, President of the Oman Investment Authority, met with Mr. John Lee Ka-chiu, Chief Executive of Hong Kong, during an official visit aimed at expanding economic ties and exploring mutually beneficial opportunities. The talks focused on enhancing strategic partnerships and identifying areas for joint investment.

During the meeting, His Excellency Al Murshidi praised the strong and growing relationship between Oman and Hong Kong, emphasising the importance of continuing mutual visits and enhancing areas of cooperation to serve the common interests of the two countries.

Chief Executive John Lee affirmed that the Sultanate of Oman possesses an ambitious strategic vision, represented by ‘Oman Vision 2040’, which aligns with the Belt and Road Initiative and contributes to enhancing economic and trade cooperation. He noted that Hong Kong, as a global financial and trade canter, provides an attractive environment for investments in various sectors, including renewable energy and advanced technologies.

The meeting was attended by His Excellency Sheikh Abdulaziz bin Abdullah Al Hinai, Ambassador at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
