MUSCAT : According to the latest World Giving Report released by the UK-based Charities Aid Foundation (CAF) in partnership with the Pakistan Centre for Philanthropy (PCP), Pakistan ranks 17th globally for its generosity, measured through helping strangers, donating money, and volunteering time across 101 countries.

This year’s report highlights Pakistan’s standout performance in financial donations, where citizens ranked 17th globally in terms of the proportion of income given. From religious giving through Zakat and Sadaqah to informal acts of kindness, the nation’s spirit of giving remains unwavering.

The report shines a spotlight on Pakistan’s longstanding philanthropic ecosystem—from urban charities to rural community support systems. Whether aiding in healthcare, education, disaster relief, or poverty alleviation, citizens continue to step up where needed most.

Volunteerism also plays a significant role, particularly among youth during crises such as floods, earthquakes, and the COVID-19 pandemic. Additionally, Pakistan’s global diaspora contributes generously to social projects through remittances and donations.

The PCP, a leading advocate of home-grown philanthropy since 2001, continues to champion transparent giving practices and partnerships across civil society, government, and the private sector.
