Muscat: In intensive diplomatic talks held over the past two days, His Excellency Sayyid Badr met with his counterparts from Jordan, the UAE, Bahrain, Turkey, Saudi Arabia, Iraq, Qatar, Kuwait, Lebanon, and Egypt to address the latest developments in Syria.

The joint statement issued after the discussions affirmed collective support for the Syrian government and its reconstruction efforts, while firmly rejecting all forms of foreign interference in the country’s internal affairs. The ministers also welcomed the recent agreement to resolve the crisis in Sweida province and called for its full implementation to preserve Syria’s unity and protect its people.

The joint declaration emphasized the importance of safeguarding civilians, upholding the rule of law, and combating sectarianism, violence, incitement, and hate speech across Syrian territories.

The ministers also condemned repeated Israeli attacks on Syria, describing them as blatant violations of international law and Syria’s sovereignty. They urged the UN Security Council to fulfill its responsibilities by demanding an end to Israeli hostilities, ensuring full withdrawal from occupied Syrian lands, and enforcing Resolution 2766 and the 1974 Disengagement Agreement.
