MUSCAT – Texas Governor Greg Abbott said the storms have killed at least 131 people in the state since July 4, with most of those deaths occurring in and around Kerrville, adding that 97 people are still missing in the greater Kerrville area.
The National Weather Service warned of renewed heavy rainfall, 10 days after flash floods in the Hill Country turned the Guadalupe River into a deadly torrent.
The agency today forecasts heavy rains across a wide area of central Texas stretching from the Rio Grande east to San Antonio and Austin.
