Strong tremors from a 4.4-magnitude earthquake shook Delhi and its neighbouring regions on Thursday morning, prompting alarm among residents across the National Capital Region (NCR). The earthquake, with its epicentre in Haryana’s Jhajjar district, struck at approximately 9:04 am at a depth of 10 kilometres, according to the National Centre for Seismology (NCS).

Former Delhi Chief Minister and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Arvind Kejriwal expressed his concerns on social media sharing his post on X, for public safety saying “Hope everyone is safe after the earthquake. Praying for the well-being of all”.

The tremors were widely felt in Delhi, Noida, Gurugram, Faridabad and other surrounding areas, leading many to rush out of buildings in precaution.

The NCS confirmed the details in a post saying an EQ of M 4.4 occurred on 10/07/2025 around 09:04:50 IST, Latitude: 28.63 N, Longitude: 76.68 E, Depth: 10 Km, Location in Jhajjar, Haryana.
