SILVERSTONE: Norris secured his fourth win of the season in front of an electrified home crowd of over 500,000.

Starting from P3, the McLaren driver fended off heavy rain, spins, and three Safety Car interventions to take the chequered flag 6.8 seconds ahead of teammate Oscar Piastri. This marks Norris’s fourth win of the season and gives him some serious momentum, with just an eight‑point gap to Piastri in the championship.

Piastri led for much of the race but received a 10-second time penalty for “erratic braking” behind the Safety Car, a move stewards said endangered Max Verstappen. This penalty shifted the lead to Norris during pit stops. Meanwhile, polesitter Verstappen spun shortly after a Safety Car restart, dropping out of contention before clawing back to a P5 finish.

Nico Hulkenberg pulled off the season’s most heartwarming performance, climbing from 19th on the grid to claim his first-ever podium after 239 starts, finishing P3 in Sauber machinery. His rise captured headlines and marked a career-defining moment.

Seven-time world champion Lewis Hamilton finished a solid fourth, ending his streak of 12 consecutive podium finishes at Silverstone, the longest streak by any driver at any circuit.
Norris now narrows the gap to Piastri in the drivers’ standings to just eight points, adding a new dimension to what is quickly becoming a thrilling intra-team championship battle.
