DUBAI: The UAE government has introduced a fresh route to its coveted Golden Visa, offering Indian applicants the chance to secure long-term residency through a nomination-based process — a significant change from the earlier requirement of large investments in real estate or business.
Previously, applicants had to invest at least AED 2 million (approximately ₹4.66 crore) in property or pour substantial funds into a UAE-based enterprise to qualify. However, under the new policy, Indians can now apply for a Golden Visa by paying a one-time fee of AED 100,000 (around ₹23.30 lakh), without the need for a trade license or property ownership.
Sources involved in the visa process confirmed to PTI that this new framework opens the door to more professionals and individuals from India looking to reside in the UAE, provided they meet the conditions and are nominated for the visa.
