MUSCAT : The new measure applies to nationals of Oman, the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Kuwait, and Bahrain, as well as to expatriates holding valid residency permits from any GCC member state. Residency permits must be valid for at least six months beyond the traveller’s date of entry.

Authorities say the move is aimed at positioning Armenia as a more accessible and attractive destination for Gulf travellers seeking cultural, natural, and business experiences in the South Caucasus.

The decision comes amid rising demand from GCC-based travellers looking for short-haul getaways offering rich history, scenic landscapes, and diverse cuisine. Armenia hopes to tap into this growing market by eliminating visa requirements and simplifying travel procedures.

With a stay limit of 90 days within a 180-day period, the policy is expected to benefit both tourists and business visitors, while strengthening tourism and economic ties between Armenia and the GCC region.
