Assen: Marc Márquez delivered a masterclass at the “Cathedral of Speed,” securing a hard-earned win at the 2025 Dutch Grand Prix held at TT Circuit Assen on June 29, 2025.

Taking the lead early on Lap 2, Márquez never looked back, crossing the line 0.635 seconds ahead of a charging Marco Bezzecchi. This victory marked his 68th MotoGP premier-class win, tying him with the legendary Giacomo Agostini. Now, only Valentino Rossi, with 89 wins, sits above him on the all-time leaderboard.

Bezzecchi pushed Márquez all the way to the finish, ultimately settling for second place. Francesco “Pecco” Bagnaia, despite a strong start, claimed the final podium spot. Pedro Acosta finished just off the podium in fourth, followed by Viñales, Di Giannantonio, Morbidelli, Fernandez, Bastianini, and Quartararo, who had started the race on pole, completing the top 10.

Marc also claimed victory in Saturday’s Sprint race, adding to his ninth Sprint win of the season and his sixth double victory this year. With this win, Márquez extended his lead in the championship standings to a commanding 68 points. He now sits at 307 points, ahead of his younger brother Álex Márquez, who has 239 points, and Bagnaia, who has 181 points.

The weekend wasn’t all smiles, though. Álex Márquez crashed out on lap 6 after an intense battle with the KTM rider Pedro Acosta, fracturing his left hand. He was scheduled for surgery last evening in Madrid and is expected to take a two-week break to recover before the next round in Germany.
