SHARJAH: The Sharjah Economic Development Department (SEDD) officially rolled out the Instant License service following approval from the Sharjah Executive Council. Tailored for office-based business activities that do not require approvals from other government bodies, the new service eliminates the need for a Memorandum of Association or a lease contract in the first year.

Designed to cut through red tape, the Instant License accommodates up to three employees per business and allows operations to begin immediately. After the first year, businesses are expected to comply with standard licensing requirements to maintain operations.

The initiative aims to curb unlicensed business activity by offering a quick, legal alternative while aligning with Sharjah’s strategic economic goals. SEDD also views the license as a stepping stone for investors entering key sectors or expanding existing operations.

Chairman Al Mahmoud emphasized that the new measure supports Sharjah’s broader economic diversification strategy and the vision of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, as well as the guidance of His Highness Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Crown Prince and Chairman of the Executive Council.
