MUSCAT : The meeting, chaired by Hamdan bin Nasser Al Yahyaei, Vice Chairman of the Municipal Council in Al Dhahirah, brought together members to discuss a wide range of service and development initiatives aimed at improving the quality of life across the governorate’s wilayats.
A highlight of the session was a visual presentation by specialists from the General Directorate of Housing and Urban Planning, covering major programs such as the “Tatweer” platform and the “Sorouh” plan, along with updates on housing services in the region. The presentation also explored investment opportunities in usufruct lands and included a proposal to allocate and promote sites for used car showrooms.
The council reviewed key recommendations from the Governorate Development and Promotion Committee, the Health and Environmental Affairs Committee, and the Social Affairs Committee. Members approved the minutes of the previous meeting and followed up on the progress of prior recommendations.

As part of its forward-looking agenda, the council also discussed proposed projects for the Eleventh Five-Year Plan (2026–2027), reinforcing the governorate’s commitment to sustainable development and enhancing public service delivery.
