Riyadh: The superstar has reportedly agreed to extend his contract with Saudi Arabian club Al Nassr, keeping him at the club until June 2026.

The extension is expected to be officially announced in the upcoming days. Since joining Al Nassr in January 2023, Ronaldo has been a noticeable presence on the field, scoring 99 goals in 111 appearances. Despite turning 40 earlier this year, Ronaldo remains a key figure for both club and country.

Speculation about his future intensified after Al Nassr’s final game of the season when Ronaldo posted, “This chapter is over” on social media.

While on international duty with Portugal, where he helped lead the team to the UEFA Nations League title, he confirmed receiving offers from clubs involved in the ongoing FIFA Club World Cup.

However, after Portugal’s win over Spain in the Nations League final on June 8, Ronaldo ended speculation by stating, “Nothing will change,” and when asked directly if he would stay with Al Nassr, he replied simply, “Yes.”

The new contract is reported to include a substantial financial package, with Ronaldo earning approximately €200 million annually. Additionally, the deal may grant him a 5% ownership stake in Al Nassr, aligning with similar agreements made with other high-profile athletes.

Ronaldo’s decision to remain with Al Nassr showcases his commitment to continuing his professional career in Saudi Arabia, with aspirations to contribute to the club’s success and potentially participate in the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
