Oman’s commerce sector contributes over RO 3 billion to GDP in 2024, Minister tells Shura Council

The Shura Council hosted His Excellency Qais bin Mohammed Al Yousef, Minister of Commerce, Industry, and Investment Promotion, to present and discuss the ministry’s statement on key economic and developmental topics.

MUSCAT : During the ongoing session, His Excellency the Minister highlighted the performance of the commerce sector, noting that its contribution to the GDP at constant prices for the year 2024 reached approximately 8.3 percent, equating to RO 3.225 billion. He added that the sector achieved a cumulative growth rate of 6.6 percent during the Tenth Five-Year Plan.


His Excellency pointed out that the Industrial exports reached RO 6.2 billion for the year 2024, indicating the growing added value of national industries and their ability to penetrate regional and international markets.
The session will focus on several strategic topics, including the contribution of the public and private sectors to the gross domestic product, the assessment of Oman’s free trade agreements, and updates on the ‘Nazdaher’ programme aimed at strengthening investment promotion and industrial development.
