DOHA: During a phone conversation with HE President of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Masoud Pezeshkian, HH the Emir reiterated that the strike constituted a clear violation of Qatari airspace and a serious breach of the United Nations Charter. He emphasized that such actions are inconsistent with the principles of good neighborliness and the close diplomatic ties that Qatar has long maintained with Iran.
HH the Emir highlighted Qatar’s ongoing efforts to foster dialogue with Iran, noting the country’s longstanding role in promoting regional diplomacy and stability. He called for an immediate cessation of military operations and urged all parties to return to the negotiation table to prevent further escalation and protect regional security.
In response, President Pezeshkian expressed regret for the attack and the damages incurred, assuring HH the Emir that Qatar and its people were not the intended targets. He reaffirmed Iran’s respect for Qatar’s sovereignty and emphasized the importance of maintaining friendly and respectful bilateral relations grounded in mutual respect and neighborly principles.
