NEW DELHI : In a statement issued on Monday, Air India confirmed it has halted operations to several international destinations “with immediate effect and until further notice,” as the airline responds to a rapidly evolving security situation in the Middle East.
“Our India-bound flights from North America are diverting back to their respective origins and others are being diverted back to India or re-routed away from the closed airspaces,” the airline said. The decision comes as a precautionary measure following recent military escalations in the region, which have affected multiple air corridors.
