Muscat: As part of its ongoing digital transformation and commitment to improving customer experience, Bank Muscat, the leading financial services provider in the Sultanate of Oman, has introduced an enhanced KYC process, which is called now “Update Personal Details,” through Internet Banking and Mobile Banking. The new process is fully automated and introduces a straight through processing (STP) system, which makes updating personal details seamless, instant and more efficient.
Customers can now enjoy a fully digital, hassle-free experience with fewer steps, fewer clicks and no ID scanning required, significantly reducing processing time; instant reminders when personal details are due for update within 30 days or have already expired; and instant notifications via SMS and email once the update is successfully processed.
To update the personal data on Mobile Banking, customers can log in their mBanking App > go to Requests > Update my information > Personal Details, then follow the on-screen instructions. The details to update include declaration, personal details, address details, and employment details. Then after verifying the details and entering the OTP sent through the registered mobile number, the customers personal details will be successfully updated in the Bank’s records. This addition is a key part of the Bank’s mBanking services, aimed at streamlining the customer experience. It highlights Bank Muscat’s commitment to updating Mobile Banking in line with the latest developments in the sector. Update Personal Details is an important process that enables the Bank to verify and maintain customers’ identity, information and documents at all times to serve them better, enhance their banking experience and avoid any delays in their transactions. Bank Muscat is committed to provide innovative services that are in-line with the latest technological developments and customers’ current and future needs.
Bank Muscat offers a wide range of online services, including Soft Token App for the approval of Internet Banking transactions, instant opening of savings bank account for adults and children, application and renewal of debit cards, tokenization of debit, credit and pre-paid cards, online generation of debit, credit, prepaid card PIN, apply for Mutual Funds, Themaar and Fixed deposit account opening, application for Credit card and Shukran prepaid card, guardians are able to view and perform transactions in minors account and open a Themaar Savings plan on children’s account, retrieve stamped account statements, delivery request to collect cards by courier, stop cheque requests, ROP fine payment, and update mobile numbers or email IDs.
Customers can also utilize the app for accessing bill payment facilities across a variety of utility services such as electricity, water, telecom, mobile top ups, instant credit card bill payments, and school fees payments. Bank Muscat’s Mobile Payments option offers an easy mechanism to transfer money within Oman. Customers can also initiate mobile payment via QR code through Mobile Shake. The Bank’s Mobile Banking services also include speed transfers to a number of countries including India, Philippines, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Egypt and Bangladesh, as well as international transfers to more than 70 countries. Recently, the bank launched the Eidiya Pay option for children to receive Eidiya with the sender scanning of QR code.
