TEHRAN: The evacuation comes as a precautionary move to ensure the safety of Indian nationals amid growing instability in the region. The students, mostly enrolled at Urmia Medical University, were moved out of Tehran through arrangements coordinated by the Indian Embassy in Iran.
“In light of the evolving situation, Indian students in Tehran have been moved out of the city for reasons of safety,” the MEA stated, adding that the embassy remains in close touch with the Indian community in Iran and continues to extend all feasible assistance.
The Jammu and Kashmir Students Association confirmed that 110 students have reached the Armenian border safely, providing relief to families back home. Live updates from the Indian Embassy and officials tracking the movement noted a coordinated effort and successful border crossing, underscoring the effectiveness of the emergency plan.

India had earlier expressed “deep concern” over the escalating conflict and urged both nations to refrain from further provocations. External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar has been in contact with his counterparts in both Iran and Israel to closely track the crisis and advocate for restraint.
