Muscat: Flight AI315 had taken off from Hong Kong on Monday morning and was heading to Delhi when the pilot detected a suspected issue onboard. Following standard safety protocol, the pilot opted to turn the aircraft around and land at the point of origin, sources said.

According to real-time flight tracking data from Flightradar24, the Dreamliner returned to Hong Kong within 90 minutes of takeoff. All passengers and crew members were safely evacuated, and there were no reports of injuries. The aircraft is currently undergoing inspection.

Air India has not released an official statement regarding the nature of the technical fault or the rescheduling of the flight.

This latest incident comes just days after a tragic crash involving the same aircraft model. Last week, an Air India 787-8 Dreamliner bound for London from Ahmedabad crashed minutes after takeoff, killing all 241 people onboard and 29 others on the ground.
