Riyadh: King Salman bin Abdulaziz of Saudi Arabia on Friday ordered the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah to extend comprehensive support and services to all Iranian pilgrims currently in the Kingdom. The directive, based on recommendations from Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman, comes as Iranian nationals wrap up this year’s Hajj pilgrimage under increasingly uncertain travel conditions.

The Kingdom emphasized that it would continue to meet the needs of the pilgrims “until they are able to return home safely,” amid airspace closures triggered by escalating tensions in the Gulf. Several countries, including Iran and Iraq, have shut sections of their airspace, disrupting flight paths and stranding travelers.

Saudi Arabia’s major international airports in Riyadh, Jeddah, and Dammam have issued travel advisories urging passengers to confirm flight details with airlines before arriving at terminals.

The Saudi government’s assurance follows its strong condemnation of Israel’s recent military actions. Earlier this week, the Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs described the Israeli strikes on Iranian soil as a “heinous” breach of international law and Iranian sovereignty. Riyadh has appealed to the United Nations Security Council and the global community to intervene and prevent further escalation.
