TEHRAN : Iranian state television has reported that multiple senior military and nuclear officials were killed in Israeli airstrikes targeting key sites across Iran. Among the dead is General Hossein Salami, the chief commander of Iran’s powerful Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), a central figure in the country’s defense and strategic operations.
The strikes, which mark a major escalation in tensions between the two countries, have sent shockwaves through the region. The deaths of such high-ranking officials are likely to provoke a strong response from Tehran, raising fears of further military confrontation.
While Israel has not officially confirmed the strikes, the incident is already being viewed as a turning point in the ongoing conflict, with global powers urging restraint to prevent a wider regional war.
