PM Narendra Modi visits site of Air India tragedy in Ahmedabad

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday visited the crash site of the ill-fated Air India flight in Ahmedabad, where over 200 people lost their lives in one of India’s deadliest aviation disasters.

AHMEDABAD : Hours after the catastrophic crash of an Air India flight in the Meghaninagar area of Ahmedabad, Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived at the site to assess the situation and offer condolences.

Landing at Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel Airport, PM Modi proceeded directly to the crash site, accompanied by Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel. The area, still reeling from the tragedy, saw intense rescue operations throughout the day.

In a post on X (formerly Twitter), the Prime Minister said, “Visited the crash site in Ahmedabad today. The scene of devastation is saddening. Met officials and teams working tirelessly in the aftermath. Our thoughts remain with those who lost their loved ones in this unimaginable tragedy.”
