The win not only moved Djokovic into the last eight of the tournament but also etched his name further into tennis history as he became the first man to reach 100 match wins at the French Open.
A three-time champion at Roland Garros (2016, 2021, and 2023), Djokovic is now eyeing a fourth title in Paris and what would be a record-extending 25th Grand Slam title overall. His latest run of form includes winning his 100th career title in Geneva just ahead of the French Open.
However, a formidable challenge awaits in the quarter-finals: world number three Alexander Zverev. The German advanced after his opponent, Tallon Khreixpoor of the Netherlands, retired due to injury while trailing 6-4, 3-0.
